Authentic Movement

When words ALONE are not enough
Integrating traditional psychotherapy with mind-body healing.

Traditional talk therapy is enhanced and deepened by including the body, the breath, and the spirit in our work together (in other words, ALL of YOU). In addition to being a licensed psychotherapist, I am also a certified yoga teacher and yoga therapist and a board certified dance-movement therapist, with years of training in psychodrama and voice dialogue work as well. So in our sessions we may incorporate movement, breathing practices, enactments, or special meditations. These can be illuminating, freeing and very powerful in creating change, and along the way you will learn many tools to better navigate life's challenges and opportunities.

A number of my clients are women and men between the ages of 25 and 60 who are asking the "who am I" questions. They come to me to explore, express and discover themselves, perhaps for the first time or perhaps as part of a lifelong process. Whether a difficult relationship, a loss or trauma, being new to NY or feeling stuck in a career first sent them to me, what they all have in common is a desire to be and feel more authentic, more connected, and to live life with more ease and joy, more passion and purpose.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process. So whether we are doing traditional talk therapy, movement exploration, or learning meditation techniques, our work together is a co-created journey of personal recovery and discovery.

Let's discover together.

Integrative Psychotherapy has helped people with anxiety, depression, trauma, feelings of loneliness and alienation, self-esteem, body-image and eating disorders, addictions and self-defeating behaviors, chronic or acute stress, and relationship issues, to name just a few.

Whatever your goals and intentions, I will bring my presence, compassion, and wisdom gained from over 15 years of experience as a Psychotherapist, Dance/Movement Therapist, and yoga and meditation practitioner to help you reach them.

"Ricki allowed me to find my way. Without judgment, intrusion or advice-giving. She knows exactly how to guide, listen, and let you make your own discoveries. And that's a real gift."
– Brian, Corporate Trainer

"People usually start therapy because there is some sort of crisis, they feel a need for change, or they simply need someone to talk to. But in the end, a truly stellar therapist is one who helps you know yourself - more deeply, honestly and compassionately. You walk away with a sense of clarity and are able to face the inevitable uncertainties of life. That is my experience of working with Ricki. She is warm and easy, insightful, and has a way of asking the questions that help you find your own answers." – Romona, Psychotherapist

"Words could never express how much Ricki has helped me. She has a strong care and concern for people, and their lives change when she enters." - Nina, Student

"Thank you, Ricki, for everything. You have been a very positive force in my life and I am eternally grateful for your wisdom, warmth and support." - Taz, Teacher and Artist
